Pro AVL MEA Charts BarCoe Studios' Next Chapter in "Raising the Bar"

Abu Dhabi, UAE — BarCoe Studios is thrilled to have its new home documented by Pro AVL MEA in the feature "Raising the bar," an in-depth look at the studio's move from its original Khalifa City space to a purpose-built facility on the edge of Abu Dhabi — and at the region's first fully AES67-connected Dolby Atmos control room.

The article follows founder Sean Barcoe's decision to bet on an immersive future, building the new studio from a clean slate around a 13-monitor Neumann Atmos system, a fully digital audio-over-IP backbone, and interconnected rooms spanning live performance, photo, video, and songwriting. It also traces the through-line of his ten-year mission: not just to record artists, but to give the region a genuine home for original music, now anchored by a 100-plus-capacity live venue and the studio's move into becoming a record label.

"The whole purpose for me here was to create a space and pay things forward to the industry," Barcoe said. With the Atmos room already online and the sound stage nearing completion, that ambition is quickly becoming reality.

BarCoe Studios extends its gratitude to Pro AVL MEA for the thoughtful feature, and to Sennheiser Middle East, Neumann, and their technical teams for helping bring the region's first AES67 Atmos studio to life.
